Accuracy & limits

Accurate tree data. Approximate locations.

Accurate — measured in the field:

  • Tag number on a physical tag on the tree
  • Species as identified and recorded
  • DBH as measured at 4.5 ft
  • Field notes and photos

Approximate — for illustration only:

  • Phone GPS points, typically ~10–30 ft (GPS.gov); canopy makes it worse
  • Sketch positions, for field reference only
  • Not a survey. The tag on the tree is the reference, and your surveyor locates the tags for the sealed drawing.

Pricing

Priced per acre, based on how many trees are on it.

These are per-acre rate ranges, not flat fees. Your estimate = lot acreage × the per-acre rate for your density band. Density means qualifying trees per acre (trees at or above the local size threshold). Every estimate includes the full inventory package.

Light density · under 50 trees/acre

$250–350 per acre

Example: 2 acres ≈ $500–700

Medium density · 50–150 trees/acre

$350–750 per acre

Example: 2 acres ≈ $700–1,500

Heavy density · 150–300+ trees/acre

$750–1,300 per acre

+15% if heavy underbrush. Example: 2 acres ≈ $1,500–2,600

Job minimum $450. Estimate until site walk: the final price depends on the acreage and tree density found on site, and is confirmed in writing before work starts.

Optional add-ons (only if you want them)

  • Protected-tree / mitigation worksheet$150 (up to 100 trees) · $300 (over 100)
  • Rush delivery (within 3 business days)+30% of the job
  • Travel outside Escambia / Santa Rosa$1/mi past 30 mi, or $100 flat
  • Return visit$150 + per-acre rate for new area

About

Zach Taylor, EI (Engineer Intern), ZT, LLC

I work in civil site development in the Panhandle and started ZT Tree Inventory because tree counts kept holding up permit packages. I tag and log every qualifying tree in the field and deliver the data in the formats site teams and surveyors already use.

ZT Tree Inventory is a service line of ZT, LLC — not a separate company. ZT, LLC provides data collection services. It does not offer engineering, surveying, or landscape design services.
